JOB TITLE:

Part Time Junior Designer/Admin Assistant

 

LOCATION:

Downtown Los Angeles

 

DESCRIPTION:

The Junior Design Assistant will work alongside the design team on all project related tasks from concept to final installation

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist design team on multiple large scale projects through all phases: concept through installation

• Liaise with clients, contractors and vendors to help implement the design

• Assist to maintain project schedules and project binders

• Request quotes, write proposals, place and track orders, and prepare project status and financial reports

• Maintain excel spreadsheets and other documentation regarding budget, client purchases and marketing efforts

• Serve as Client liaison for sending proposals and tracking proposal approval and payments

• Source furniture, fixtures and equipment aka FF&E

• Oversee and expedite custom furnishings orders

• Approve CFAs

• Manage returns and/or replacements for damaged or unused items

• Prepare project-meeting agenda’s and materials. Attend client meetings and take proficient meetings notes for design team

• Create and update furniture plans and elevations

• Assist in developing presentations

• Assist with social media

• Bring new and interesting ideas to the table

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited school or 1 – 2 years work experience in the field

• Knowledge of computer packages -Adobe Creative Suite. G-Suite, specifically spreadsheets and AutoCAD or another CAD program i.e. Vectorworks, SketchUp, Revit

• Understanding of social platforms including Instagram, Pinterest and WordPress

• Knowledge of Ivy is an added bonus

• Own a laptop with above programs installed

• Must be dedicated and quick to learn and pick up programs

• Great ability to multitask and work independently as well as in a team

• Demonstrate the need for open and direct communication both verbally and in writing and possesses leadership ability

• Skilled at researching finish materials and knowledge of their required applications as well as installation requirements

• Ability to help haul heavy samples and small furniture items during presentations or installations.

• Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, colour selections, and specifications

• Reliable car with US driving licence and willing to travel and run errands

• Knowledge of Los Angeles Design Stores and the Pacific Design Center

PAY:

The role is part time with the potential to lead into full time. Compensation is determined based on experience.
